As the senior web developer and programmer for Mays, Richard Peng brings much more than a high level programming skill set to the research and development table. He brings a knack for exploring the newest Internet-based programming territories, places where few web programmers dare to venture. In fact, Richard has the ability to construct complex backend systems for websites and then give them a user friendly interface that clients can operate effortlessly, even those with only rudimentary computer skills. In today’s complex website coding landscape, Richard says yes to every challenge, helping Mays to retain its position as an Internet marketing leader. This brilliant approach to programming is not the only thing that sets Richard apart from the rest of the programming crowd. He is also a visionary, a big picture person among a mass of detail conscious, left brain driven programming minds. It is Richard’s ability to embrace big picture concepts as well as executing programming details to perfection that sets him apart from the rest of his industry.

Presently, Richard is one of only a handful of website programmers in the country who are developing “responsive” website designs that automatically scale and adapt to different devices from widescreen desktop monitors to smart phones. Richard’s extensive website development and coding skills has taken Internet-based content management dashboards to exciting new levels of functionality and ease of use . He also contributes website design ideas to the Mays Creative Team. Richard took on the task of bringing the office technology up to speed, building the new media encoding PC, setting up the multipurpose server that hosts the Mays & Associates File Manager, setting up the new website test platform, file share, and fine-tuned the office phone system.

Richard’s extensive technical skill set includes these programming and markup languages: PHP, Java, Ruby, SQL, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. He is experienced in managing and securing systems running the LAMP stack. He is also comfortable working with all the major operating system environments including Windows NT/2000/XP/7, Linux, and Mac. Other technical expertise include version control workflows and workflow optimization.

Richard has his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia and also attended the McIntire Business Institute at the University of Virginia.
