Understanding Your Website Traffic Sources

by | Oct 6, 2025 | SEO

When you open an SEO report, one of the first sections you’ll see is traffic sources. But what does it really mean?

Organic Traffic → visitors from search engines (the gold standard for SEO).
Direct Traffic → people who type your web address or click a bookmark.
Referral Traffic → visitors who clicked a link on another site.
Social Traffic → clicks from platforms like Facebook or LinkedIn.

Why it matters: If your organic traffic is growing, your SEO investment is paying off. If most of your visitors are only coming from social or direct, you may be missing out on search opportunities.

At Mays & Associates, we help businesses go beyond “numbers on a page” and understand how traffic translates into leads and revenue.

Want clarity on where your website visitors are coming from? Let’s talk.
